Daniel Mallaber
Daniel is the lead anaesthetist here at Manchester Fertility. With eight years experience providing procedural sedation for fertility-related procedures, he is responsible for our team of highly experienced anaesthetists, who provide sedation for fertility-related procedures, helping our patients have a safe and comfortable journey.
With a background in general and obstetric anaesthesia, Daniel also works within the NHS at St. Mary’s Hospital in Manchester as a Consultant Anaesthetist, a position he has held since 2001.
A large part of Daniel’s role at St. Mary’s is working on a delivery suite in the NHS. This means he gets involved with patient care at the beginning of the pregnancy journey here at Manchester Fertility and successful births at St. Mary’s.
Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists qualifications. Daniel has gone on to gain specialities in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia, procedural sedation, cardio-pulmonary exercise testing and pre-op assessment.

Daniel says
“I have always loved how anaesthesia can take people who are anxious, worried, and facing big challenges and make that process possible, safe and, hopefully, a little less scary. Of course, the technical skills anaesthetists have are important, so often, how we communicate with patients and their partners can make all the difference. I find that very rewarding.”
