Did you know that we’re one of the only fertility clinics in the country that doesn’t rely on imported foreign donor sperm to help the increasing numbers of single women who want to have a family?

Our dedicated sperm donor treatment programme is specifically designed by our fertility specialists to meet your needs, giving you access to safe, health-screened UK donor sperm from our own Semovo sperm bank, a choice of funding plans to make treatment cost-effective and counselling for emotional support during your journey.

You can start treatment straight away at Manchester Fertility; we don’t have a waiting list for our UK-based HFEA-registered sperm donors who are traceable and identifiable to your child in future.

Why use a fertility clinic for treatment with donor sperm?

With increasing numbers of co-parent ‘matching’ sites and men even advertising their sperm online, it may seem like a quick, low-cost option to pregnancy - but it carries significant risks compared to donor sperm insemination at a licensed fertility clinic.

We don’t recommend performing ‘DIY treatment’ at home because of these risks to you and your child, and because of complex legal parenthood issues that can arise through treatment outside of a licensed setting.

If you have treatment with us you’re reassured that your sperm donor is not your child’s legal parent and his sperm is safe for your use.

Single woman donor sperm treatment: What we offer

Our donor sperm treatment programme is comprehensive and designed to take you right through to pregnancy with the support of a caring, empathic and experienced team.

You’ll benefit from:

Thorough initial fertility investigations:To help us assess and identify which treatment path is right for you

Health screening:To ensure there are no underlying issues that would prevent conception – this includes us assessing factors such as your BMI or lifestyle, with expert support if you need it from our fertility nutritionist.

Choice of sperm donors:You’ll be given a choice of UK-based, health-screened and fertile sperm donors from our own Semovo sperm bank, who have the highest quality sperm and are identifiable to your child in future. Our donors complete detailed profiles including a personal pen portrait and goodwill message, we can also give you personal insight as we get to know all of our sperm donors well.

Treatments:Insemination (IUI) with donor sperm or IVF with donor sperm – we’ll advise which is the best option for you for pregnancy success

Funding choices:From traditional fees to our own discounted donor sperm IUI package, Access Fertility’s IVF Multicycle Plan or IVF Refund option, our aim is to make safe fertility treatment with donor sperm accessible to all those who need it.

Counselling:Emotional support for you as you go through treatment on your own, from our experienced counsellors and dedicated Donation Team. This includes implications counselling to discuss all the factors involved when using donor sperm.

Midwifery support:Our fertility support midwife helps you as you wait for treatment outcome, and provides essential personal support to you during your pregnancy scan and in the earliest first weeks of pregnancy until your care is transferred to your local NHS unit.
