When/why would I be offered assisted hatching and what are the benefits of this?

Read answerHi, I have just had the results back from my fertility tests. I am 39, my AMH was 6 and fsh 7.8 (both tests done mid cycle). I know that time isn't on my side, would IVF be possible with these results?
Read answerHello,
I am a 36 year old woman ttc for 6 years with 2 previous failed IVF cycles, though both initially resulted in pregnancy. For the first I had a 'chemical pregnancy' - ie initial positive test very quickly followed by a negative result. The second cycle resulted in a positive test, then heartbeat seen at scan at 7 weeks, however no hb at 8.5 weeks and so I had a medically managed miscarriage. Genetic analysis showed a chromosomal anomaly of the embryo (doubling of the 4th chromosome) with nothing further uncovered with regards to myself that would cause multiple miscarriages. I have earlier had one spontaneous pregnancy (in 2010) which ended in missed miscarriage picked up on 10 week scan (again after seeing earlier healthy heartbeat)
I have multi-follicular ovaries (but not PCOS) and developed moderate OHSS requiring hospitalisation for my first IVF round. The upside of that is that I now have 9 good frozen blastocysts for use in future FET.
I have a regular 29-31 day cycle and every investigation I have had indicates I am ovulating normally. My husband has great sperm count with no diagnosed problems and our diagnosis is 'unexplained infertility' with me also having had a small amount of endometriosis treated laparoscopically in the past, not thought to be particularly significant.
My question is whether you would recommend natural or medicated FET?
My clinic lean heavily towards medicated because it makes it easier for them to schedule patients, but I do not see this as a valid enough reason to determine the best course of treatment for an individual, and am ready to change clinics. However so against natural cycles are they that they will not even discuss the relative benefits and drawbacks of each or even outline in detail what is involved in each course of treatment. Could you kindly fill me in on this in your opinion?
I would also be very interested to know if there is any kind of 'middle way' - where for example my bodies rhythms may be able to be followed, and ovulation able to occur so that I have a corpus luteum to support any pregnancy, but with appropriate medication to support/supplement the process?
Many thanks!
i'm 37 my parter is 35, we have 7 children between us from previous partners but would like a child together. I was sterilised 4 years ago but fell pregnant easil with my three boys. we are both very fit and healthy how high are our chances of conceiving through IVF?
Read answerHello. I'm currently on the 8 month waiting list in the Halifax/Calderdale area for my first attempt at the ICSI treatment. My partner and I have both had all the tests necessary and unfortunately my partner has a very low sperm count due to two hernia operations at a young age. I saw your prices on getting the ICSI treatment and noticed that the treatment is cheaper (more a £1,000 difference) than it is currently through your clinic so we have had to wait on the NHS. I have ordered a brochure to have a look at the facilities you have and wondered if I could change clinics and start the process quicker going with you MFS than the NHS? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. Kind regards, Lorelei
Read answerWe been trying for a baby for two years now, and last year I found out that I have no sperm, after supplying two samples. I had various blood tests, fibrosis test and few other tests and everything else seems to be normal except low testerone level. The NHS suggested we go through IVF (sperm retrieval). I'm just wondering what are the chances of sperm retrival? And what are our options? Thanks
Read answerWe have started IVF treatment this week and I'm concerned that the clinic we are with have given us the wrong advice about whether we should be having ICSI or IVF. My husband has had 3 sperm samples. Each sample has had had normal numbers and motility but reduced morphology. The first 2 samples were 1% morphology and the third was 2%. We have been told that we will be having IVF and not ICSI but I'm concerned that this is the wrong treatment option given my husband's low morphology. My question is what the protocol would be at MFS with these results? As we EC is likely to be in around one week's time I would so grateful if someone was able to let me know so I can have an informed conversation with our clinic (we are currently with the NHS and have had a nightmare with them - I'm concerned that they haven't offered ICSI purely for most reasons - should this cycle fail we will be self-funding our next cycle).
Thanks very much for any help you can give me.
