Treatment with donor eggs

Deciding whether to use an egg donor is one of the most personal decisions you can make. But it is one you can make with confidence, because our clinic team provides you with the support you need, every step of the way, right to the earliest days of your pregnancy.

Treatment with donor eggs involves a multidisciplinary team including fertility consultants, counsellors, fertility nurses, lab and Donation Team, all using their individual skills and expertise to maximise your chance of a baby.

Here’s an overview of who supports you on your journey and what they do:

Donation Team

Our dedicated Donation Team directly supports you during treatment, providing personal one-on-one care and reassurance. They will help you to find your ideal egg donor from our own UK egg donor programme, co-ordinate all your treatment appointments and keep you updated.

Fertility doctors

Our consultant team has many years of expertise in donor conception. Your doctor will explain why donor eggs are advised for you and what treatment involves, planning every stage of your treatment to give you the best chance of a baby.

Our friendly and experienced counsellors ensure you are prepared for the future. Our counsellors will talk to you about the rights of your donor-conceived child, including being able to trace their donor when they turn 18, and how you can talk to your child about their origins.

Fertility Nurses

Our experienced and compassionate Fertility Nurses are an integral and highly-valued source of support. They will help to guide you as we prepare your body for pregnancy using medications and during your embryo transfer.

Creating and choosing the best embryo is key to pregnancy. Our embryologists are highly-skilled in embryo development and selection. They ensure your embryos are cared for in the very best laboratory conditions and choose the embryo with the highest pregnancy potential for your transfer, using advanced technologies and embryo expertise.

Our midwives are here to give you reassurance when you need it most, whilst you wait to take your pregnancy test and at your confirmation pregnancy scan following successful treatment. Midwifery support is a vital part of your journey with Manchester Fertility, so you enjoy a stress-free and relaxed start to your pregnancy.
