IVF Success Stories from Real Families

IVF is more than just a clinical procedure - it's an emotional journey filled with hopes, challenges, and resilience. For many, the experience is extremely personal and reasons for treatment can vary. In this blog, we're proud to share some of the IVF success stories experienced at our clinic. These stories, filled with courage and perseverance, offer insight, support, and hope to those on a similar journey because who better to help others on their journey than someone who's been there?

Celebrating IVF Success Stories

Our IVF success stories showcase the incredible diversity of modern families. Charlotte and Ashley opted for treatment with donor eggs to overcome genetic issues, while Zowie and Jonathan’s journey included IVF treatment with help from an egg donor and surrogate to overcome complications with ovarian cancer. Lydia and Kim, a same-sex couple, conceived using donor sperm and ICSI, while Milly, a solo mum, also fulfilled her dream through IVF with donor sperm. Amy and Laura, another same-sex couple, chose reciprocal ICSI, with one providing the eggs and the other carrying the pregnancy. Each of these stories reflects the unique paths taken to create a family.

Charlotte & Ashley Patient Story

After having a bad experience with another fertility clinic, we knew we needed to transfer our care if we were going to try IVF treatment again, we found Manchester Fertility online and are so glad we did. We underwent IVF using both frozen and fresh donor eggs due to my carrier status for the fragile X syndrome gene.

Ashley’s dream and I came true the day Emily came into the world. She brings us so much joy and happiness each day, and we can’t imagine life without her now. Manchester Fertility has been the most incredible team helping us on our IVF journey to become parents. Regardless of how many rounds of IVF we went through, the support remained consistently excellent. The aftercare is absolutely amazing as well, which is crucial during IVF. They have been so supportive through all the ups, downs, and emotions that go with the IVF journey. Anybody who is considering IVF, do it with Manchester Fertility.

Zowie & Jonathan

Zowie & Jonathan's patient story

In 2006, I met my wonderful husband, Jonathan. I had experienced the joy of parenthood as a single mum of two boys, Keaton and Martin, but Jonathan had not so in 2010, we decided to expand our family, but fertility issues arose. After struggling with other clinics, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. A radical hysterectomy and chemotherapy followed, but our dream of having a child seemed lost, as my other ovary could not be saved.

We navigated through the toughest time of our lives, and in 2020, we started exploring surrogacy. We connected with our surrogate and her incredible family through the UK surrogacy agency COTS, and so began our surrogacy journey. We were initially drawn to Manchester Fertility as it was close to our surrogate, but we also soon discovered it was the North & Midlands Centre of Excellence for surrogacy treatment.

All the staff members were amazing! Everyone was kind, caring and genuine, the team worked well together and enjoyed their roles, which really showed and most definitely made a difference, creating a personal experience coupled with their amazing success stories and statistics. With Manchester Fertility's help we got to experience the love and joy Theodore brought into our lives.

Lydia & Kim

Lydia & Kim's Patient Story

We chose Manchester Fertility as our preferred clinic for treatment based on our friends' recommendations. Two of our best friends had treatment with you and said you were amazing. We never even considered another clinic as we had heard such good things!

As a same-sex couple, we had ICSI treatment. We both wanted to feel involved in the process, so we thought reciprocal IVF was the perfect way to do that. We had done one cycle at the back end of 2021 that unfortunately didn't work and so started a new round at the start of 2022.

We got a much higher number of eggs the second time.  The embryo was implanted into Kim, and we decided to freeze the three remaining. At our seven-week scan, the ultrasonographer Becky informed us there were two heartbeats and that we would have identical twins. We could not believe our luck!

Fertility treatment is a roller coaster, but the team was there for us during the highs and lows. Throughout the entire process, we felt looked after and supported. We will be eternally grateful to the team at Manchester Fertility.

Milly

Milly's patient story

When I first decided I wanted to become a solo mum, I almost didn't believe it would be possible, but my family is now complete with my two gorgeous sons, Oscar and Casper. I can't thank Manchester Fertility enough - without them, I wouldn't have my two amazing boys.

I initially chose Manchester Fertility because of its informative website. I found so much information on there, including a section specifically for solo mums; this made me feel at ease that they would understand my specific needs.

I felt relaxed from the moment I stepped into the clinic. The clinic itself is clean and comfortable, and all the staff were very friendly. I was very impressed and knew without a doubt that it was the clinic for me. The whole IVF process was clearly explained and made as easy as possible.

Amy and Laura

Amy and Laura's patient story

We approached Manchester Fertility feeling apprehensive about what our journey to create a family would be like, we did not know what to expect and entered the clinic with a list of questions. After attending an open evening and receiving more information, we decided it was the perfect choice for us. We were talked through all the different processes of how we could create our family, and all of our questions were answered. The staff were so amazing and helpful every single step of the way.

As we chose to have reciprocal ICSI treatment, it meant that we both had medication and various procedures throughout our fertility journey. It was a daunting prospect when you first see the medication, but we could contact the clinic through their app or on the phone at any time, and they would talk us through any worries we had.

We feel so lucky and blessed to have welcomed Mylo into the world after our first round of reciprocal ICSI treatment. We will be returning to Manchester Fertility in the near future to expand our little family.
