For many infertile women it can be hard to cope with needing to use an egg donor without the additional stress of privately funding fertility treatment – but that what’s happening across the UK, as more local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) restrict NHS IVF funding or stop it altogether.
So what are your options if you need treatment with donor eggs but can’t get it through your local NHS authority? You don’t have to resort to fertility tourism and go abroad for IVF.
At Manchester Fertility we have no waiting list for UK donor eggs and offer fresh and frozen donor eggs, traditional funding methods or a pre-paid refund plan, to make treatment with donor eggs as accessible as we can.
It’s our aim to ensure women who are relying on donor eggs can have the safe treatment they need right here in the UK, using UK egg donors and all the reassurance and benefits this brings:
Funding fertility treatment with donor eggs: Pre-paid refund plan
We were the first UK fertility clinic to offer women who need donor eggs a money-back guarantee.
Available to women aged up to 48, the Access Fertility Donor Eggs IVF Refund plan gives you up to three cycles of treatment with UK donor eggs at a fixed discounted cost, with a refund of 70% of plan fees if you don’t have a live birth.
You’ll receive a guaranteed six donor eggs per cycle from your chosen egg donor, who is from our own Egg Donors UK egg donor programme.
Traditional funding: IVF with donor eggs
If you prefer to pay for treatment with donor eggs traditionally per cycle as needed, you’ll be given the choice of treatment with fresh or frozen UK donor eggs at Manchester Fertility.
We’re one of the only fertility clinics in the UK to be able to offer IVF using fresh donor eggs, thanks to the success of our award-winning Egg Donors UK programme.
IVF with fresh donor eggs: If you opt for fresh donor eggs, your treatment cycle will be carefully synchronised with the donation cycle of your chosen egg donor, so her eggs can be fertilised with your partner’s sperm – or donor sperm – upon retrieval straight away.
IVF with frozen donor eggs:Frozen donor eggs offer an alternative and cost-effective option. Eggs from our donors are frozen in our donor egg bank, and once you’ve chosen your egg donor, her eggs are thawed for use in your treatment.
This costs less than using fresh donor eggs, but you still have excellent chances of pregnancy thanks to our freezing techniques, which ensure high viability rates after thawing. And as frozen donor eggs are already in our donor egg bank, they’re instantly available – meaning no need to synchronise cycles and no delay to treatment starting.
