At Manchester Fertility we’re welcoming more older women than ever, helping them to have a baby when they’re in their 40s.

This increase in older patients is because we’re one of the few clinics in the North West and across the UK to be able to offer immediate treatment using UK donor eggs, from our own recruited egg donors.

IVF with donor eggs may be the best option for you if you want to have an IVF baby in your 40s, and especially if you’re over the age of 44 we highly recommended using donor eggs for the best chance of success.

We decide if IVF with donor eggs is right for you in a number of different ways. We examine your fertility status through blood tests measuring your ovarian reserve, this tells us how many eggs you have left and is a good indicator of how well you’ll respond to the ovarian stimulation needed for IVF. We look at your medical history, including if you’ve had children before.

Our expert fertility consultants and specialists all then work together, examining your test results and history, to devise a bespoke and personal treatment plan that offers you the maximum chance of a baby.

If IVF with donor eggs is the best option, we understand that it’s not a decision that can be made lightly. This is why our dedicated Donation Team is here to support you, and your partner. They are here to plan your treatment and help you choose the right egg donor for you. Our counsellors discuss all the implications of using donor eggs with you, including help in explaining to any child their origins.

As a Manchester Fertility patient using donor eggs, you have the reassurance that all of our egg donors donate exclusively to us, and all have passed strict HFEA criteria to be an egg donor. They are all aged 18-35, and are fully traceable so your child can find out who they are. You receive a fully detailed profile of your donor so you can understand their motivation to donate and a little bit about them, which also includes a goodwill message to the child you may have.

If you’d like to find out more about treatment with donor eggs, we recommend booking in for a free, private one-to-one with our Patient Advisors, where you can talk through the treatment and find out about our donors in confidence.
