What is the difference between a fertility MOT and pre-treatment investigation?
This information was published 8 years ago and was correct at the time of publication. It may not reflect our current practices or regulations.
Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.
Our Fertility MOT provides an overview for you to monitor your fertility levels and predict your chances of successful pregnancies in future. It's generally intended for people who maybe aren't consideriing treatment at that moment, but want the reassurance that everything is fine and shows you how fertile you are. It also highlights in advance any problems which could make it difficult to conceive naturally. Pre-treatment investigations offer further tests, such as HIV screening, HEP-B, Ruebella etc., for people who are considering using IVF treatment in the immediate future.
