How successful is blastocyst freezing, can the success rate drop when thawed?

Successful blastocyst freezing is now possible through a technique called ‘vitrification’.  The success rate for all frozen embryos is slightly lower than fresh transfers as some embryos will not survive the freeze-thaw process and the best embryos are selected for transfer in the fresh cycle.
