I went 14 months without any periods then at Christmas last year I had a full on period only very light periods lasting 2/3 days. Nothing much as still on the pill and still having hot flashes. I am 47 years old. My gynaecologist thought I had gone through the menopause. I take the pill same time every day and had protected sex in March. I had a small amount of bleeding same as what I normally have. Could I have gone through the menopause?

The only way to check if you have gone through the menopause is to stop the pill and then have your baseline FSH/LH/oestradiol checked.
