I suffer from PCOS and am desperately trying to lose weight. What is the BMI limit to be allowed clomid? Also what monitoring takes place whilst on clomid, e.g. scan or blood tests? What are the side effects of taking clomid? Many thanks.

Your BMI will need to be less than 35 before we would offer treatment. When you are taking clomid we monitor the first cycle carefully with scans to ensure that you are not having an excessive response. The side effects of clomid are mild for most people such as bloating, weight gain, mood swings, headaches and breast tenderness. These will be discussed with you during your consultation with the doctor.
