Success for Manchester Fertility at Joint Fertility Conference

The Joint Fertility Conference is an annual event hosted by the Association of Reproductive & Clinical Scientists, the British Fertility Society and the Society for Reproduction and Fertility. The conference, which takes place in Belfast, offered delegates CPD and education opportunities along with the much-anticipated chance to network with friends, colleagues and industry partners.

This year the event showcased a high-profile panel of national and international speakers, including multiple members of the Manchester Fertility team. Dr Raj Mathur, one of our specialist fertility consultants, chaired several sessions at the conference and helped organise the event. In addition, Dr Nikolas Tsampras presented data outlining high levels of patient satisfaction from virtual consultations. Dr Anamika Rao and Sister Sam Potts also attended and offered support to their colleagues and gained insight into the latest work and research in their field.

Katie Lock and Zuzanna Golebiewska also participated in the conference, with Katie, Pre-registration Embryologist, showcasing a digital poster presentation that summarised her findings using AI for embryo selection. Similarly, Zuzanna, Data Analyst, displayed her digital poster comparing success rates with partner and donor sperm in IVF and ICSI.

We'd like to celebrate the achievements of two members of our team, who were not only chosen to showcase valuable research to their peers but also secured prizes for their contributions:

Lydia Ruddick, Senior Embryologist, and Jingyi Xie, Pre-registration Clinical Embryologist and Reproductive Technologist

Lydia Ruddick, Senior Embryologist, and Jingyi Xie, Pre-registration Clinical Embryologist.

Our very own Lydia Ruddick, Senior Embryologist, was awarded best talk by a post-registrant practitioner for her work 'Are Vitrified Donor Oocytes an Option for Patients with High Sperm DNA Fragmentation?' Which explored the similarity of birth rates in a cycle using vitrified eggs compared to fresh donor eggs.

In addition, we're happy to announce that Jingyi Xie, Pre-registration Clinical Embryologist, was awarded the Iwan Lewis-Jones Prize for best pre-registration talk for her work 'The Impact of an AI Sperm Selection Tool on ICSI Outcomes: A Validation Study'.

As one of the UK's leading Fertility clinics, Manchester Fertility has helped thousands of couples and individuals realise their dreams of starting a family. However, the diligence and ingenuity of our incredible team, combined with our desire to provide the best possible care to our patients, drives us to stay at the forefront of our field. As such, we're incredibly proud of our achievements at this year's Joint Fertility Conference by the members of our outstanding team. We're excited to see where their passion and research will next take them.
