Options for pregnancy

I am 45 years old and my partner is 42. I was sterilised 17 years ago and have a son from previous marriage. I long to have another baby with my current partner but finding the right treatment is difficult and I'm worried I will have to go to Valencia. Can you please recommend some options?

This information was published 9 years, 3 months ago and was correct at the time of publication. It may not reflect our current practices or regulations.

Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.

At 45 years old your best chance to conceive is using donated eggs. The live birth rate over the age of 44 year using your own eggs is extremely low but your chance using donated eggs is high. You do not need to go abroad to get this treatment as at Manchester Fertility we have a good number of egg donors. There are advantages of having treatment in the UK. All our donors are identifiable to the donor conceived person at the age of 18 and UK based clinics have high standards which are strictly regulated by HFEA.
