A woman’s chance of having a baby after sterilisation depends on many variables, including the type of sterilization procedure that was performed, her age, her previous fertility history and her partner’s fertility history. IVF is a method where an egg is fertilised by sperm outside of the body where resulting embryos can then be transferred to the woman’s uterus with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy. The woman’s ovaries are stimulated with medication and eggs are harvested. The eggs are inseminated with sperm and carefully observed over several days to see if healthy embryos form.
