Q: My partner and I have already got a 2 and a half year old but we have been trying to get pregnant for a year and it's not happening. When I was pregnant I kept bleeding. Do you think that could have anything to do with me not getting pregnant?

A: Bleeding during pregnancy usually relates to the placenta or the cervix, none or which affect fertility. You should visit your GP for advice. I would advise you to start to record your periods and maybe use an ovulation predictor kit to see if you are ovulation. I would also recommend a semen analysis for your partner.
Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.
