If you need our help to have your family, you may think that it will involve a long wait before treatment such as IVF actually commences. But at Manchester Fertility, did you know you can request treatment straight away?
Typically you will see one of our fertility specialists as a first step, who will look at your medical history in detail and talk through options with you.
You are never hurried to begin treatment or make decisions you’re not ready for. Many of our patients will spend considerable time – sometimes months – digesting and considering their options and what may be best for them. During this time, we are always available at the end of the phone to answer any further questions you may have, as we understand that often you will have so much on your mind it can be difficult to ask all the questions you want to during your appointment.
When you have decided you wish to have treatment with us, then you return to our clinic to undergo screening tests - such as semen analysis and ovarian scans – so we can determine the right treatment protocol for you.
Subject to the results of these being satisfactory, you can then request treatment with us and your IVF cycle will begin. You can read more here about what a typical IVF cycle with us involves, but usually a cycle is completed within around six weeks.
At every point during these crucial early stages of investigations and decisions, we will always ensure that you fully understand what your options are, and which may be the one which gives you the best chance of success. We will also ensure that you always understand how much your treatment costs.
Making the decision to actively start treatment can be an exciting yet daunting time. But we are here to give you the best care we can – providing support, encouragement and vitally, all the information you need, to ensure your experience is as stress-free and positive as it can be.
