Tamanda has had a longstanding interest in reproductive science and fertility, sharing that making babies is the closest thing we have to magic!
She holds a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Medicine. Beginning her Reproductive Science career at Semovo in 2018 after earning her MSc. Tamanda then trained at Hewitt Fertility Centre in Liverpool through the Scientist Training Programme (STP). After three years, she became a registered Clinical Scientist in Andrology and worked as a Clinical Andrologist, applying her STP knowledge.
Later, Tamanda joined St Mary’s Hospital as a Clinical Scientist and Quality Manager for UK NEQAS Reproductive Science, gaining expertise in Quality Management, which made her diligent in her practice. She also continued performing clinical tasks like semen analysis, sperm freezing, consenting consultations, and processing TESE biopsies.
Tamanda’s role at Manchester Fertility involves laboratory work, assisting patients with sperm donor choices, transporting samples, and providing results and advice. She aims to use her vast experience to make a difference for patients.
“Throughout my career, I have increasingly recognised the importance of considering fertility patients holistically and not just focusing on the semen analysis result. I am committed to ensuring fertility care is more inclusive, balanced, and patient centred. I am excited to be joining Manchester Fertility, which really champions inclusivity, and look forward to contributing to putting patients at the forefront of everything.”
