Preparing your uterus for embryo implantation. There is a separate charge for this additional treatment.

What is Endometrial Scratching?

An endometrial scratch is a simple and quick procedure designed to optimise the uterine environment in preparation for an embryo. 

Performed in the week before your IVF cycle starts, your uterus is gently scratched using a small sterile plastic tube, which triggers the body to create new uterine lining.

This is thought to make your uterus more receptive to the embryo which will be transferred in your upcoming IVF cycle.

Can I have endometrial scratching?

Endometrial scratching may be of benefit if you have had previous multiple unsuccessful IVF cycles or failed implantation, despite the transfer of good quality embryos.

However, the scientific evidence regarding this is mixed and it has not been conclusively shown to improve the chance of having a baby.

What are add-ons?

Add-ons are optional extras that you may be offered on top of your normal fertility treatment, often at an additional cost.

Some clinics may include certain add-ons with their treatment packages as standard whilst others charge separately, this add-on is in an option extra not included as part of your treatment and can be paid for as an extra part of your treatment, at Manchester Fertility we do charge for this add-on.
