Today marks the beginning of National Fertility Awareness Week - an entire week devoted to exploring all things fertility - from advocation and education to activism and celebration.

This year's National Fertility Awareness Week is particularly special as it celebrates 20 years of Fertility Network UK, a patient-centred fertility charity and the organisers of the event. Their valuable work involves providing impartial information and emotional support free of charge to those affected by fertility challenges, a service we strongly advocate and regularly signpost our patients to.

This year's Fertility Week theme is #Forward4Fertility. It encourages people on their fertility journey to voice the changes they want, the support they need, and how everyone can work together to create a better fertility future.

You can find out more information about the week's daily events here. We'll also be celebrating National Fertility Week via our social media platforms and taking a look at the daily focuses.

Here's a roundup of our highlights:

Monday – Cost of Living Survey, #fertilityfairness

Today, Fertility Week will explore how the cost-of-living crisis has impacted fertility patients. The results from a survey conducted by Fertility Network UK will be unveiled on the same day, highlighting the financial challenges many face during their fertility journey.

In support of working toward fertility fairness, we partner with Access Fertility to offer various pre-payment programmes and finance options to those seeking to build their families- bringing peace of mind, financial transparency and hope on journeys towards parenthood.

From pre-paid, multi-cycle and refundable payment programmes to a range of finance options, including a 0% buy now, pay later option for 12 months, we offer you a variety of ways to fund your treatment that suits your circumstances.

Wednesday – More to Life, #childnessnotbychoice

Wednesday's focus will be on providing increased awareness and support to those who are childless by circumstance and not by choice, a topic that resonates with many of our patient's personal experiences and the reason for people seeking our assistance on their fertility journey.

At Manchester Fertility, we recognise that every individual arrives at our clinic with a unique set of circumstances, so we prioritise personalised care and compassion from the outset.

Throughout your entire journey with us, we provide a comprehensive range of supportive services to ensure your emotional and physical well-being is prioritised.

Our team comprises highly experienced fertility counsellors who offer impartial, empathetic, and understanding support throughout your journey.

Additionally, our in-house Fertility Support Midwife remains by your side, providing expert advice and reassurance through what can feel like a vulnerable time.

In addition, you can access our dedicated Fertility Support Group platform via Facebook to connect with fellow Manchester Fertility patients, share experiences, and find support in a community that understands.

Thursday – LGBTQ+, #LGBTfamily

Thursday's focus will be on fertility treatment for the LGBTQ+ community, taking a look at the different challenges LGBTQ+ individuals and couples face on their pathway to parenthood. During the day, Fertility Network UK will host a series of webinars featuring guest speakers.

With over 35 years of fertility care experience, we have helped create hundreds of LGBTQ+ families throughout the UK. Our team of experts include a number of the UK's most qualified and accomplished fertility doctors, who specialise in treatment for same-sex couples.

Treatment options include IVF and IUI (with donor sperm, if needed), reciprocal IVF, surrogacy, and egg and sperm freezing.

We also work in close partnership with TwoDadsUKMy Surrogacy Journey, and LGBT Mummies to understand the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community.

Please join us in exploring the many important issues covered daily in this year's National Fertility Awareness Week by checking out our Instagram and Facebook accounts.
