Treatment with donor eggs

Treatment with donor eggs

If you need donor eggs to start your family, we have UK-based donors available with no waiting list.

Using donor eggs is a very special way to have a baby, but it is also a highly personal, sensitive and an emotional decision.

There are many different reasons why you might need to use donor eggs which can include premature menopause or premature ovarian failure, poor egg quality, you may have had medical treatment such as chemotherapy that has affected your fertility, you are of advanced age or there is a high risk of passing on a genetic or hereditary condition.

We have a dedicated Donation Team at Manchester Fertility, to give you the extra support you need every step of the way.

Who are our egg donors?

Our egg donors are healthy UK based women under the age of 36, who donate to us through our Manchester Donors programme.

They are all HFEA-registered egg donors fully identifiable to your child in the future.

Talk to our Donation Team

Your first contact will be with our dedicated Donation Team, who are there to support you throughout your treatment journey.

We will perform a thorough fertility assessment, lifestyle and health check and talk you through your treatment path, so you understand what is going to happen and when.

Our fertility counsellors will discuss what using donor eggs means for you and your family. So you can start your journey confident in your decision and are fully informed.

Choosing your egg donor

Choosing your egg donor is one of your biggest and most exciting decisions. Our Donation Team will provide you with a choice of UK based egg donors that match your preferences. We get to know our donors well, giving you valuable personal insight and detailed donor profiles.

Ready for treatment

We will synchronise your cycle with your donor if you are using fresh donor eggs, so her eggs are ready to be collected at exactly the right time. If you are using frozen donor eggs, these will be thawed and fertilised whilst we prepare you for treatment.

Embryo transfer

Donor eggs are fertilised with partner sperm or donor sperm. The best resulting embryo is transferred to your uterus. You can take a pregnancy test two weeks later.
