In January last year, I was finally in a position to start IVF. The tests were numerous but I knew each one was one step closer. When the time came for the first injection, it felt like a big step forward and by the end of them I knew I had done all I could and it was all in the hands of the amazing team who has been helping me.
Retrieval day was scary, as I knew a lot was riding on how many eggs I had, which for me that day was nine. 6 of them were mature, and it was a waiting game to see how many would make it to day 5. I received a phone call about how many I had left, and I only had one. Just 1 one chance, so I spent every day with my fingers crossed. By some miracle, I tested positive!
Seeing my baby at my reassurance scan was amazing. I found out the gender and discovered I was going to have a little boy. Becoming a mum has been a dream come true.
My little one is growing fast, smiling and babbling away, and I feel so lucky to be able to be his mum.
