IVF at 45 and sterilised
I am a mum of 4 grown children I've been sterilised for 13 years and still have regular periods. I would very much like to have a baby with my fiancé he has no children. I would like more than anything to use my own eggs but I'm aware 45 is usally the cut off point for this so im Keen to get the ball roliing asap! Please could you tell me my options.

Firstly at 45 your chance of a live birth is very low even if you have previously had children. Age is the most important factor in predicitng success. Our clinic does not have any live births using own eggs over the age of 44 but nationally there are pregnancies reported. As you have been sterilised you may be able to have this reversed but IVF would be a better option as you and your partner would see if you can make good quality embryos.
I would suggest that you have an appointment with one of our Fertility Consultants who will be able to give you advice if IVF would be appropriate.
