Getting pregnant

I am 51 years old and have tried all means of getting pregnant before now but it did not happen, and I sincerely wish to have babies. Is there any chance for me at all?

Our Expert's Answer

This information was published 8 years, 5 months ago and was correct at the time of publication. It may not reflect our current practices or regulations.

Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.

Unfortunately at the age of 51 it is very unlikely you would have a live born baby using your own eggs. This is due to the quality of your eggs. You could opt to use donated eggs but at Manchester Fertility we do not treat ladies over the age of 50. Further information about clinics who may offer treatment in the UK is available from HFEA website http://www.hfea.gov.uk/
