Pregnacy

I was sterilised at 32 after having clips. I have children but have been with my new partner for nearly 16 years, he's 15 years younger than myself. We would love to fulfil our dream by getting pregnant. Which way would offer the best result and how much would the procedure cost in full? I know there are chances it could not work but we have been so desperate for so long. I'm 48 now and he's 33 but I feel age is no problem.

Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.

At age 48 chances of natural conception are extremely remote. The chances to retain fertility via reversal of sterilisation are similarly reduced. In your situation donor egg treatment is recommended. If you are generally healthy to carry pregnancy and your uterus is generally intact, you could be a good candidate. Here at Manchester Fertility we run a successful egg donation program and we are happy to see patients up to age 50.

We would be pleased to see you for consultation, free counselling to explore your options.
