Tubal Ligation - Can I have IVF?

I have had tubal ligation and now with a new partner. I will be 40 in a couple of months. Can I have IVF?

If you have had tubal ligation you have a couple of options if you wish to conceive.  You can attempt to have the tubal ligation surgically reversed or opt for IVF which bypasses the process of the egg needing to travel down the fallopian tube before fertilisation.  Both these techniques are successful however, as you are nearly 40, I would advise you to have a hormone test such as AMH prior to embarking on any form of treatment.
