This information was published 9 years, 2 months ago and was correct at the time of publication. It may not reflect our current practices or regulations.

Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.

If you have been trying for 6 years it is very unlikely it will just happen. You need proper investigation including sperm test for your partner and an ultrasound scan and blood tests for you. It is also advised to check if your fallopian tubes are not blocked. This can be done as an out-patient procedure. I would advise you to have a fertility MOT which will do all the above tests and give you the answers to your chances of conceiving naturally. Problem with your period should be discussed with your GP who should be able to give you advice based on your medical history.
