Recurrent Miscarriage
I am 27 years old and I have had three recurrent miscarriages within the space of three years. The first in 2011 at 7 weeks, the second in 2013 at 6 weeks and then the third in May 2014 at 11 weeks but baby stopped growing at 10 weeks. I am now waiting for blood tests to see why this keeps happening. The baby and placenta was healthy and normal so nothing wrong there. I am very worried that I will never be a mother and it has taken me to have three miscarriages for my GP to take this seriously and test me.
Is the Fertility MOT something that will be able to give me anymore answers than my GP once I receive the blood test results back?

Your GP will arrange for you to have a variety of blood tests usually at a specialist recurrent miscarriage clinic. These will include a karyotype to check for any genetic problem. Your partner could also have an advanced sperm test. You could also have a detailed ultrasound scan and hysteroscopy to see if there are any uterine problems. If all these tests do not discover any problems you may be advised to take some medicine known as quad therapy. The Fertility MOT would not be appropriate for you as all the tests you need are tailored to patients with a history of miscarriage.
