45 years old and IVF with own eggs?

I am 45, still have a regular 28 day period and my husband is 28 and we would love a baby. I have one tube that is blocked, is it possible for me to have IVF with my own eggs?

Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.

Although you may conceive naturally at the age of 45, IVF is unlikely to be successful. At Manchester Fertility we have not had a live birth from any patient having IVF using their own eggs. Egg donation would be a much more effective treatment and currently we have egg donors available.
