Are we too old?
My fiance (50) had a vasectomy 16 years ago, I have an ADD teenager 16 yrs old. I always wanted a 2nd child, but couldn't cope with it earlier. Now I'm 41yrs ... our time is right, but are we not too old? How big are the chances for a healthy baby? What is the cost and the time we would have to invest? Thank you for your honest answer.

Firstly at the age of 41 you are not too old for IVF. However it would be wise to have your ovarian reserve assessed by an AMH test. This will give a clearer picture of your chance for success. If all is well with your ovarian reserve you have a couple of options. If you wish to use your fiancée’s sperm he will need to undergo surgical sperm retrieval and then any sperm recovered will be used in an ICSI cycle. Details of this can be found on our website. Alternatively you could use donor sperm and you may able to have IUI treatment which is much less invasive and lower in cost.
