Nick & Cath

August 2018

After nine years of trying for a baby and five rounds of unsuccessful IVF treatment we had virtually given up hope of having a family of our own. We were convinced by the positivity and professionalism of the medical staff at Manchester Fertility that we could eventually achieve our dream of becoming a family of three and decided to give it one last go. Oliver (Ollie) was born on the 27th April 2018 weighing in at 2lbs 8oz. He was born nine weeks premature and spent the first seven weeks of his life in neonatal care. After an incredibly difficult start (he contracted sepsis in his first week) he finally came home June 12th and is now thriving, putting on weight and developing a real little feisty personality. We will never forget that emotional day we returned to Manchester for the eight week scan and saw a little heartbeat for the very first time and now treasure each and every day we have with Ollie - he brings us so much joy. We cannot thank Manchester Fertility enough for the part they have played in helping us to achieve what we felt at times was impossible. We really wish our story gives hope to all those of you going through IVF treatment and particularly, those who have had multiple failed attempts in the past. Dreams do happen and the best things really do come to those who wait x
