July 2018

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the team at Manchester Fertility, without your support I wouldn't have achieved my ultimate goal of becoming a mum - I can not thank you enough. I am a 40 year old single professional female who's dream was always to become a mother and started my journey in April 2015. I went through a fertility MOT and a Hysterosalpingogram test which came back clear. I then went on to have IUI treatment, using the same sperm donor throughout. I became pregnant following the first IUI then sadly suffered a miscarriage at seven weeks. I went on to have a further two IUI treatments which weren't successful. I then fell pregnant following a brief relationship, sadly I miscarried again. I went to have a consultation at Manchester Fertility who reassured me and were supportive. We discussed at length the possibility of IVF and I decided to go for it. They collected a dozen eggs on Easter Bank Holiday Monday 2016, nine of which fertilised and four reached Blastocyst stage. I had a fresh embryo transfer which unfortunately didn't progress to pregnancy. I then had a frozen embryo transfer on 11th July 2017 and on the 22nd July 2017, I did a pregnancy test which revealed that I was pregnant, words couldn't describe how happy I was. At seven weeks I had a follow up scan at Manchester Fertility which detected two heart beats I was in fact carrying identical twin boys. On 16th Feburary 2018 I gave birth via C-section at 34 weeks gestation due to Twin 2 (Matthew) not growing in my womb. Charles and Matthew were born weighing 3lb and 4lb, my little miracles. To all those who are going though fertility treatment please keep the faith, miracles do happen and dreams can come true x
