Treatment process: Fresh donor eggs
Treatment with fresh donor eggs means the eggs are fertilised with either partner sperm or donor sperm as soon as they are collected from your donor.
It involves preparing you to receive an embryo, whilst at the same time preparing your donor for donation. This type of treatment requires careful synchronisation between donor and recipient, so the embryos are ready for you at exactly the right time.
Your donor undergoes ovarian stimulation and egg collection, whilst you take medications to prepare your uterus for embryo transfer. Embryos are transferred when your uterine lining is of the right thickness. You can take a pregnancy test two weeks after your embryo transfer.
Treatment process: Frozen donor eggs
The process for frozen donor eggs differs to fresh in that it does not involve any cycle synchronisation. Eggs are already frozen and ready in our donor bank, so you can start treatment immediately.
Donor eggs are thawed and prepared for fertilisation by our expert lab team, whilst your uterus is prepared for pregnancy using medications. We use scans to confirm your uterus is of optimum thickness before embryo transfer, followed by a pregnancy test around two weeks later.
