Are you planning to start IVF or have fertility treatment such as donor sperm insemination this year? 2016 is set to be an exciting and special year for us here at Manchester Fertility, as we celebrate 30 years of helping people to become parents.

If you’d like to join our family and make the first steps towards having your baby, here’s our advice for all those starting out on their journeys, including how to choose the right clinic to maximise your chances of success, and how to make your private treatment more cost-effective:

Tips on choosing a private fertility clinic

If you’re researching fertility clinics, you’ll find you have plenty of choice with many private providers across the UK. Not all clinics are the same however, and it’s important to choose a clinic that is not only transparent about its success rates and fees, but also one that has the necessary specialists for your diagnosis and the treatment you need. If you need donor sperm or donor eggs, make sure the clinic has donors available for you, and check where the sperm is sourced. If they don’t have their own donors, they may need to import sperm from abroad. Read our detailed tips on how to choose the right fertility clinic for you.

Funding your treatment

Did you know that you can choose how to fund your fertility treatment with us? We offer many different options to make your treatment affordable and cost-effective. Your funding options include:

Manchester Fertility pre-paid packages:We have recently launched a brand new, pre-paid multicycle Donor Sperm Insemination package. We’re the only clinic in the North West to offer a package specifically for donor sperm IUI treatment, and it offers you up to three cycles of donor sperm insemination at a discounted rate. Find out more about what it includes here, along with FAQs.

Access Fertility programmes: We were the first clinic in the UK to offer our patients an IVF Refund through our partnership with Access Fertility, a leading provider of pre-paid fertility treatment plans. The Access Fertility plans we offer include IVF Refund, Multicycle, and Donor Egg IVF Refund for women aged up to 48 who need donor eggs to have a baby. Read more about Access Fertility plans and FAQs.

NHS IVF funding transfer:We specialise in helping people eligible for NHS IVF to apply to have this treatment transferred to us. If your Clinical Commissioning Group agrees to the transfer request, it means that instead of attending your referred NHS IVF clinic, you have your treatment with our specialist team. We can help guide you through this process, including how to apply for funding transfer – read more about NHS IVF transfer here.

Egg-sharing:Many women choose to egg-share to benefit from cheaper IVF treatment. If you’re 35 and under, and are a non-smoker, you could egg-share and receive a cycle of IVF or ICSI with us for £1,000. It involves sharing half of the eggs we retrieve during your treatment to our own egg donor programme, Manchester Donors, which helps our patients who need to use donor eggs. Egg-sharing means you become a HFEA-registered egg donor, which has implications not just for now, but in the future. You’ll receive thorough counselling to ensure you’re informed and prepared to be an egg donor, and all that this very special gift entails.
