Hello! I fit all the criteria for the egg share programme apart from my mum has breast cancer. Would this mean I would not be able to go ahead?

Please note that all the answers we give are on a generic basis only, as we cannot provide more in-depth answers without access to your medical history. If you need a more detailed response, tailored to you, we would recommend a consultation with one of our Fertility Specialists for more comprehensive medical advice.
In an egg sharing programme you have to fit the same criteria as any person donating eggs. If there is a family history of heritable disorders then you may not be suitable to be an egg donor. However, not all types of breast cancer are inherited and we would have to look closely at your family history before we could accept you onto the programme. If unsure, please contact a friendly member of our team.
