Self-referral:Some of our patients already know they need our help to have a baby because of previous diagnosis, or because of circumstances, such as the need for donor eggs due to age-related infertility or donor sperm if they’re single or in a same-sex relationship. If you know you need treatment with us, you can start your journey by making a free one-to-one appointment with our Patient Advisors. This is an informal, no obligation relaxed session where you can ask us any questions and have a look around our clinic. It’s designed to give you an introduction to our team and our services, so you feel relaxed and ready for your treatment to begin.
Medical referral:Many of our patients begin their treatment with us via a doctor’s referral. Often they’ve tried conceiving naturally but haven’t had any success, with their doctor conducting fertility tests that have identified issues. In these instances, you are usually referred to the local NHS fertility unit to await treatment if you’re eligible. But if you aren’t eligible for NHS IVF, you can choose to have your treatment with us. You can ask your doctor for a referral letter, medical history, and to provide us with the results of the tests you have had. If you are eligible for NHS IVF, but don’t want treatment at your local NHS clinic, we specialise in helping people to transfer their NHS funding to us. This means you have your treatment with us, and the benefits of our techniques and expertise, still funded by the NHS. Find out more here.
Fertility testing:People also become our patients as a result of Fertility MOT testing. Fertility testing tells you your current fertility status, and that of your partner. In many cases, testing reveals no problems but for some people, fertility issues are defied that would make natural conception difficult or impossible, such as blocked fallopian tubes, or sperm disorders. If you undergo Fertility MOT testing with us, and problems are shown, your consultant will explain to you possible treatment options for when you’re ready to have a family, and likely chances of success.
