To become an egg donor the following will be required:
- Complete a questionnaire with details of your medical and family history
- If eligible, a blood test on day 2 of your menstrual cycle and an ultrasound scan will be necessary
- An appointment will be given to discuss the implications and process of egg donation
- If you are happy to proceed you will be given an appointment to see the doctor for a medical examination
- Screening blood tests will be taken for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, syphilis, cytomegalovirus, cystic fibrosis and genetic testing
- It is important that you have been vaccinated against Rubella and have an up to date cervical smear result
- Once all the results are available, a potential recipient will be identified and you will be able to proceed as an egg donor
- Expenses are paid for each visit
